If we give ourselves to God and commit ourselves to do His work, then we don't need to worry about tomorrow. God knows the
end from the beginning. We cannot see what will happen tomorrow, but He can.
When we take control of our own lives and depend on our own wisdom for success, we are doing something God hasn't asked us to do and are trying to do it without His help. We have taken to ourselves the responsibility that should be God's. We have put ourselves in His place. This will create anxiety about possible danger and failure because we are on a sure path to disaster.
But when we really believe that God loves us and wants us to succeed, we'll stop worrying over the future. We'll trust God the way a child trusts a loving parent. Then our troubles and problems will disappear because we will want only what God wants.
Jesus didn't promise to help us carry tomorrow's burdens today. He says, "My grace is enough for you" (2 Corinthians 12:9), but, like the manna the Israelites received in the wilderness, His grace is given daily, for each day's problems. Like the Israelites on their long journey, we will discover the "bread" we need each day.
We are given only one day at a time, and for that one day, we can live for God. We can place our one day in Jesus' hands, giving Him both our plans and our worries. "'I say this because I know what I am planning for you,' says the Lord. 'I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future'" (Jeremiah 29:11).
If we commit ourselves to the Lord each day, choosing to be free and happy as we obey and serve Him, all our worries will be stilled, all our issues settled, all our confusing problems solved.
